    HOUSE OF MIRRORS

    CHRISTIAN WAGSTAFF, KEITH COURTNEY

House of Mirrors is a grotesquely fascinating walk-through installation composed of a labyrinth of seemingly endless mirrors over 400 square metres. It is an enormous outdoor metal and glass structure with a wooden parquetry floor which has been designed in a triangular plan which has specific architectural references to an ancient code. House of Mirrors creates intrigue and disorientation, trickery and confusion and focuses on the darker side of altered perception. . . . a unique experience, one not to be forgotten.

ANGEL IN THE HOUSE OF MIRRORS

    TERRY TAYLOR

Edna May Clover, born 22 July 1927 is the singular ghost of the House of Mirrors and is vertically reflected on all of the internal mirrors. A larger than life size Apparition contained in glass, a trapped spirit. One that is a reminder of the secret of death – that it approaches that little bit closer to us each time we look in the mirror. It is my Mum and myself merged together, frozen in time as if imprisoned in an hourglass, or a bell tower of pulling ropes. ‘She’ is lost within echo chambers of dark spells surrounded by hooded figures dressed as archways that flicker in candlelight.
