In 2016, Essen, Germany, I had a solo exhibition at Frank Schlag Galerie of 14 paintings called ‘The Five Senses and the Deformed’. The entire exhibition was bought by one collector in Vienna. I miss them very much and so decided to make the Deformed Portraits into prints, which although much smaller than the paintings, still convey a unique quality. Life is fragile; brutal, delicate, wondrous, very strange with abundant contrast. All of which give inspiration as my forefinger grips a worn brush.
